Film Title: Ball & Chain
Length: 30 Mins
Description: Scottish taxi driver Jamie Russell is a classic tale of a youthful rock & roll dream that exploded. He currently back living with his elderly parents and drives a taxi in a city where binge drinking and knife culture are routine. It’s a grind, and one of his songs ‘Ball & Chain,’ aptly sums up his situation.
What does the future hold? Jamie is a father who has come to understand that the traditional family unit is under great strain, and the absence of positive parenting can create a troubled young adult. He hopes to prevent his young son from one day becoming part of what he routinely sees on the streets every Saturday night.
Perceptive and articulate, Jamie brings an engaging perspective on a range of social issues in urban life today, and shares his struggle to let go of his youthful ambitions.
